Adeeb summoned to Commission on Investigation of Murder and Enforced Disappearances

Commission on Investigation of Murder and Enforced Disappearances has revealed former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb was brought in for questioning regarding ongoing investigations.

In a tweet, the presidential commission said Adeeb was summoned and a statement was recorded. The Commission said questions were posed in relation to several allegations against him in the murder of Parliamentarian Dr. Afrasheem Ali and the disappearance of journalist Ahmed Rilwan Abdulla.

While the former vice president was summoned and questioned, his 33-year jail sentence on corruption, bribery and terrorism has been pardoned by the courts. He is due to travel for medical treatment next Friday.
