Probe launched into is sympathetic ISIS graffiti

Maldives Police Service has launched probe into IS sympathetic graffiti drawn on some walls of Addu City.

On Twitter, Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed said any form on encouragement for a terrorist organisation would be investigated. He stressed the importance of significant measures to combat efforts of those who promote such organisations and propagate material that compromises the religious unity.

Maldives Police Service said, upon investigation, it has been revealed the graffiti on the wall of the Milo Stadium has been painted-over, after pictures became viral.

The administration prioritises addressing the issue of radicalism and violent extremism in the country.
