Foreign Minister meets counterparts on the side-lines of the OIC Summit

Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has met counterparts on the sidelines of the 14th Summit of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Khalid Al Sabah on the sidelines of the 14th Summit of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). During the meeting, both ministers discussed ways in which both countries can work together in tackling common challenges and issues.

The foreign minister also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Senegal Amadou Ba and talked about enhancing cooperation in a number of areas and strengthening bilateral relationship.

Furthermore, the minister met Foreign Minister of Palestine Riyad Al-Maliki and assured the creation of an independent State of Palestine, and their right to a peaceful and dignified life, is an international priority for Maldives.

Minister Shahid then met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Nasser Bourita on the sidelines of OIC Summit. Discussions of the meeting focused on the possibility of visa free travel for people between both countries and cooperating on areas of mutual interest.

In addition, he expressed delight to meet with Foreign Minister of Djibouti, Mahmoud Ali youssouf. Both minister talked about the shared challenges small states face in the international arena and ways in which both countries could work together for the mutual benefit.
