President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has congratulated two parliamentarian-elects who have been endorsed as the parliament speaker and deputy speaker.
Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has endorsed former President Mohamed Nasheed as Parliament Speaker and Eva Abdulla as Deputy Speaker. Following the decision, President Solih congratulated both parliamentarian-elects and the parliamentary group. Moreover, the president expressed readiness to work with the new parliament to achieve the pledges.
The Speaker of Parliament will be appointed after the oath taking ceremony of the new parliamentarians.
