Ministry of Tourism has provided operating license to resorts which were abolished under Maldives Tourism Act. The operating licenses were granted to the resorts under certain conditions after signing an agreement, according to tourism ministry.
The tourism ministry said the conditions include making all due payments within a given period of time, improving staff affairs, maintaining local and foreign ratio of staff and strengthening safety and security of the resorts.
However, the ministry did not mention the amount of resorts that have been provided with the license.
