Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resource and Agriculture has revealed plans to establish a company to enhance agriculture sector.
Speaking to PSM News, Assistant Director Hussain Faisal said establishing a company to boost the agriculture sector is included in the policies of the administration. In this regard, Hussain Faisal said a Maldives Agriculture Corporation will be established as part of the efforts to further enhance the sector.
Maldives Agriculture Corporation will be established in association with Ministry of Economic Development and currently finalising the paperwork are underway, according to fisheries ministry.
Moreover, Faisal said under the corporation, efforts will be initiated to further enhance the agriculture sector. The corporation will also focus on maintaining the price of agricultural produces and to ensure the produces are available throughout the year.
The administration is exerting major efforts to enhance the sector.
