Government prioritises establishing a law to ensure protection for children

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has revealed one of the most prioritised work of the administration is establishing a law to ensure protection for children.

In the national address commemorating the International Children's' Day, President Solih said it is prioritised by the administration to ensure every child from its birth is bounded by love and care of the families. Extending Children’s' Day greetings to all children, the president highlighted the situation of the children in Maldives is better when compared to children in regional countries. In this regard, he expressed more efforts are underway to further improve the situation.

Moreover, in the address, the president said every child deserves to be brought up respectfully with love. He further said establishing a health screening system within the education system is crucial to ensure a healthy generation. He advised all parents to ensure children do not consume harmful substances.
