The Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has departed on an official visit to Sri Lanka.
During the visit, Foreign Minister will call on the Prime Minister of the Socialist Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Ranil Wickremesinghe, Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, opposition leader Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Tweeting about the trip, the foreign minister revealed meetings will be held with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Sri Lankan leadership and discuss the newly introduced changes to the resident visa regime as well as other issues of common concerns. He expressed confidence solutions will be found based on the trust between people of two countries and the governments.
