Job sector should be widely participated by youth: Vice President

Vice President of Maldives Faisal Naseem reveals efforts will be exerted to ensure job sector in Maldives is widely participated by the youth by giving necessary trainings for youth. The vice president made the remarks at the ceremony held to mark the 10-year anniversary of Employment Tribunal.

Addressing the ceremony, Vice President Naseem said the number of foreigners engaged in high paid, high ranked jobs are relatively high compared to the skilled youth in Maldives. Noting there are many talented youth, the vice president urged employers to prioritise locals when giving jobs. However, he stated skilled foreigners in Maldives is a good opportunity for Maldivians to learn from their experiences.

Moreover, vice president spoke on the importance of increasing youth participation in the sector to enhance the economy and to maintain the revenue in the country.
