Supreme Court of Maldives has formulated a roadmap which consists of objectives to be reached to ensure judicial reform and autonomy.

The roadmap was formulated after referring to recommendations made at the Judicial Conference on Judicial Independence and Reform, which was held on February. The roadmap lists objectives that the judiciary hopes to achieve within the next five years.

Department of Judicial Administration has scheduled a special function for tonight, to officially launch the road-map. Chief Justice Ahmed Abdulla Didi is expected to deliver a speech at the function.

Judicial reform is a presidential pledge of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. Judicial reform has also been included in Agenda 19, the framework upon which the main ruling party, Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), plans to design its legislative agenda.
