Lawyers urged to stand up against any harm caused to judicial sector

Former Prosecutor General Ahmed Muizzu has stated lawyers must stand up against any harm caused to judicial sector to ensure no legal mistakes are made. He made the remarks at the oath taking ceremony of 84 lawyers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Former Prosecutor General Muizzu revealed he regrets nobody standing up when major mistakes were made in the judicial sector. Mentioning he feels bad about not standing up when it was necessary, Muizzu revealed it is a responsibility of each lawyer to correct the mistakes in the sector or at least work to correct it.

Furthermore, highlighting on some legal faults, Muizzu noted the reduction of the number of judges in Supreme Court. He urged all lawyers to courageously maintain good legal practices and fight to restore international best practices.

The former prosecutor general went on to note lawyers need to protect the rights of public and called to work towards the greater good.
