Maumoon Reform Movement (MRM) assures it has not endorsed any candidates fielded by Jumhooree Party (JP).
MRM said although Leader of JP Qasim Ibrahim has announced a candidate from MRM endorsed a candidate from JP, it is completely false. MRM assured none of its candidates have withdrawn or endorsed a candidate from another party.
Although the parliamentary elections is scheduled to be held tomorrow, the ruling coalition failed to come to a common understanding to jointly field candidates. While Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) decided to contest for 85 constituencies, JP is contesting for 41 constituencies.
Some candidates from JP have been endorsed by the opposition coalition of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and People's National Congress (PNC) and vice versa.
