President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih states services of Maldives Police Service would be available in Bilehdhoo in Faafu Atoll from tomorrow onwards. The president made the statement addressing a campaign event held by Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
Noting the biggest problem the island currently faces is drugs, President Solih said it was vital for police to be stationed on the island. The president said the initiative by the citizens to build a police station shows how urgently the citizens need police services on the island. He said such initiatives regarding curbing crime and solving social issues, would receive the wholehearted support of the administration.
At the event, President Solih noted the several issues that need to be addressed in the islands of Bilehdhoo, Feeali and Magoodhoo, to ensure development. In this regard, the president noted the issue of erosion in Bilehdhoo, the need for land reclamation in Feeali and Magoodhoo, in addition to the need to expand tourism in the atoll.
