Maldives sign a USD 800 million credit facility with Exim Bank of India

Maldives have signed a USD 800 million credit facility with Export-Import (Exim) Bank of India. The agreement was signed by Minister of Finance Ibrahim Ameer and Chief General Manager of Indian Exim Bank Sudatta Mandal.

Speaking at the ceremony, Finance Minister Ibrahim Ameer said the agreement will provide funding for many development projects which includes establishing water and sewerage facilities in 30 islands.

The finance minister revealed feasibility study of some projects have been concluded and some details have been forwarded to Exim Bank, adding works of the project will begin soon.
