Asia-Pacific Democrat Union (APDU) has appointed Chairperson of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Hassan Latheef as one of its Vice Chairman.
At the conference of APDU held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, APDU elected Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickramasinghe as its Chairman, Peter Goodfellow from New Zealand as its Deputy President and Mirza Fakhrul from Bangaldesh, Tenzin Khangsar from Canada and Hassan Latheef as Vice Chairmen.
Speaking to PSM News, Hassan Latheef described his appointment as a win for MDP.
APDU is an international association of member parties close to the International Democratic Union.
