Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has revealed plans to hold an investors' forum to enhance trade ties between Maldives and European Union (EU).
Speaking on a programme aired on PSM News, Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid announced, preparations are underway to conduct the forum during the second quarter of the year.
With optimism, Minister Shahid noted, the forum will serve as a platform to extend information to foreign countries regarding the trade opportunities in Maldives.
Moreover, Minister Shahid revealed, although some aid to Maldives have come to a halt since the country's promotion to the status of a developing country from the status of a least developed country, efforts are underway to increase foreign direct investments to Maldives.
