JP has not withdrawn any tickets from its candidates

Chief Spokesperson of Jumhooree Party (JP) Ali Solih has assured the party has not withdrawn any tickets given to any of the candidates competing in the parliamentary elections.

Meanwhile, former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has decided to endorse some candidates fielded by JP, after dropping off from some constituencies previously contested by candidates from Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and Peoples' National Congress (PNC). Following the decision, rumours are spread that JP will also endorse candidates contesting from the PPM-PNC coalition.

However, Spokesperson Ali Solih has denied the rumours. He refuted the rumours the tickets granted to some candidates were taken back.

The spokesperson further added JP will always support the administration, revealing the party will work towards securing a majority to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
