Police commences strategic development symposium in Addu

Maldives Police Service has commenced strategic development symposium in Addu City focused for the south atolls.

The strategic development symposium is held to get ideas and suggestions on the police force located in atolls, in efforts to formulate the strategic plan of the institution, according to the police service. The two-day symposium is held in the Maldives National University (MNU) Campus Hall in Addu City.

Speaking regarding the strategic plan of police, Inspector of Police Sultan Ahmed Bishar said the plan will be implemented with the suggestions from the public, dissimilar to previous times. In this regard, Sultan added public forums will be held in the coming days, in addition to focus group discussions and selective separate meetings.

The police service revealed the information collected by such symposiums and meetings will be utilised in the formulating the 2019-2023 action plans under the police reform process. The police is working to complete the new action plan before its anniversary this year.
