Universal Weather and Aviation of USA and Inner Maldives Holidays of Maldives have officially launched a joint venture business aviation ground support location, Universal Aviation Maldives. The joint venture company was officially launched by Managing Director of Inner Maldives Holidays Mohamed Firaq and Managing Director of Universal Aviation Singapore Yvonne Chan.
Universal Aviation Maldives is formed to support the local business aviation traffic and most importantly to be a local advocate for the industry in Maldives. Moreover, Universal Aviation Maldives will work closely with the government of Maldives to identify opportunities to drive traffic, and improve infrastructure and access while also benefiting the local economy.
Addressing the ceremony, Firaq stated even though the sector has enhanced and the number of tourists have increased, sufficient facilities are not available. However, Firaq expressed the operations will be smooth once the airport expansion project is completed.
While the company was officially launched, operations of Universal Aviation Maldives began last November. In this regard, during the few months since the launch of its operations, the company has served over 50 private jets. Universal Aviation Maldives provides services for passengers from arrival till departure.
