The Road Development Corporation Limited (RDC) has been awarded contracts to develop roads in 11 islands in seven atolls, as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to modernise roads of islands across the Maldives.
The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure entrusted RDC with the development of main roads in these islands. Under the agreement, RDC is required to complete the roads in all the islands within 730 days.
- Thuraakunu, Haa Alifu Atoll: USD 4.25 million
- Nolhivaranfaru, Haa Dhaalu Atoll: USD 6.56 million
- Finley, Haa Dhaalu Atoll: USD 4.25 million
- Maroshi, Shaviyani Atoll: USD 3.90 million
- Maafaru, Noonu Atoll: USD 7.52 million
- Thulhaadhoo, Baa Atoll: USD 4.60 million
- Kudarikilu, Baa Atoll: USD 3.47 million
- Muli, Meemu Atoll: USD 5.51 million
- Guraidhoo, Thaa Atoll: USD 4.82 million
- Hirilandhoo, Thaa Atoll: USD 4.57 million
- Kin’bidhoo, Thaa Atoll: USD 5.16 million
The agreements were signed on behalf of the Ministry by State Minister Hassan Rasheed, while RDC’s Managing Director Ibrahim Nazeem signed on behalf of Road Development Corporation Limited.
