Islamic Ministry asks not to construct mosques without permission

Ministry of Islamic Affairs has instructed not to construct mosques in any island without permission.

A circular sent to island councils, atoll councils, city councils and Housing Development Corporation (HDC), said such huge projects can only be constructed with the permission of the ministry. President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has handed over allocating the amount of mosques, construction of mosques, granting permission to build mosques and bringing necessary changes to mosques to the ministry, according to the circular.

Therefore, any of the aforementioned activities cannot be conducted without permission, according to Islamic Ministry.
