DJA files a corruption case against Abdulla Saeed, Ali Hameed and Hassan Saeed

Department Judicial Administration (DJA) has filed a corruption case against former Chief Justice Abdulla Saeed, former Supreme Court Judge Ali Hameed and former Judicial Administrator Hassan Saeed.

Although DJA confirmed a case has been filed at Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), no further details were made public.

However, information has been disclosed in an internal audit of DJA, which reveals contacts made with a party to establish a division of Civil Court in Hulhumale' and purchasing a treadmill for High Court without informing the court. PSM News also learnt the individuals responsible for the aforementioned cases are former Judge Ali Hameed and former Judicial Administrator Hassan Saeed.

DJA is mandated to organise, implement and oversee all administrative matters of the judiciary. The department functions under the Supreme Court of the Maldives. Persons assigned with the administrative tasks of the office is answerable to the Supreme Court.
