BML begins investigating a corruption case

Bank of Maldives (BML) has begun investigating a corruption case related to two of its employees.

While BML did not deny the launch of a serious internal investigation into the embezzlement of a huge amount of cash, BML did not reveal any further information. BML said it will not hesitate to take action against any staff or any individual who misconducts and defames the name of the bank.

Mohamed Saeed added BML has established internal controls to identify any misconducts, misbehaviour or neglect towards its services. He further warned BML would report any violations to investigative authorities, and take harsh action against such individuals.

PSM News has learnt a handful of staff were involved in the embezzlement of over USD 500,000.
