Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed has expressed the aim of the administration is to solve existing issues in the sector, rather than making new pledges.
Speaking at a meeting held with tourism sector business operators in Addu City, Tourism Minister Ali Waheed said important projects to enhance the sector in the city has been halted, adding the aim of the administration is to proceed with the existing projects and to boost the projects which are halted.
During the meeting, the minister acquired the complaints of businessmen and assured to work towards finding swift solutions. In this regard, the minister revealed discussions will be held with Maldives Immigration to ease the visa process for tourists arriving at Gan International Airport. Moreover, he added as part of his visit to India, tourism-related opportunities will be provided for Addu City.
During the trip to Addu City, the minister also met with the city council.
