Administration gives priority in ensuring human rights: President

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has underscored the current administration gives utmost priority to ensuring human rights of citizens.

Conveying the greetings of the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights while addressing the ceremony held at Ukulhas, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih assured he would not forget his presidential responsibilities. Noting the past few years have been sadly marked by a culture of impunity and disdain for human rights in Maldives, the president acknowledged the hard work of human rights advocators in Maldives and across the globe.

President Solih also reiterated the commitment of the current administration to restore the social, political and economic rights of the Maldivian people, assuring to stand up for the human rights everywhere. Moreover, he stated ensuring human rights will pave way for sustainable development on its own.
