Ambassador of China to the Maldives Zhang Lizhong has called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives Abdulla Shahid.
During the meeting held at the foreign ministry, Ambassador Zhang Lizhong thanked the Government of Maldives for the warm welcome and gracious hospitality provided to Minister of Culture and Tourism of China Luo Shugang; who visited the Maldives from November 16-18, as the Special Envoy of the President of China, to attend the inauguration ceremony of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. The ambassador further noted the special envoy and the president had a successful discussion, during Luo’s courtesy call on President Solih on November 18.
At the meeting, Minister Shahid and Ambassador Zhang discussed progress of on-going Chinese projects in the Maldives and future cooperation in areas of importance to the Maldives. The minister and the ambassador also discussed important matters to be discussed during the minister’s upcoming visit to Beijing later this year.
