Tourist occupancy of Maldives rate at 63%

The tourism occupancy rate of Maldives stands at 63% by the end of August.

As of August, 972,839 tourists had arrived to Maldives this year, which is an increase of 9.1% compared to the same period of last year, according to statistics revealed by Ministry of Tourism.

Tourism Ministry stated the tourism industry recorded the highest occupancy rate at 81% while the lowest was recorded 44% this year. Meanwhile, the average occupancy rate of the sector stands at 74% throughout the year.

Tourists have spent total 6,270,308 nights in Maldives which is an increase of 12% compared to last year, according to the latest statistics of tourism ministry. On average, tourists stay in Maldives for 6.4 nights.
