Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has launched a manifesto for the next five years aimed for Maldivians residing in Sri Lanka. The Sri Lanka Manifesto was launched by the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Maldives Mohamed Hussain Shareef at a ceremony held at the Shahran Banquet Hall in Colombo.
Addressing the ceremony, Ambassador Mohamed Hussain Shareef highlighted the current administration has introduced new services for Maldivians in Sri Lanka, which past governments have ignored. The manifesto consists of 21 pledges for the Maldivians residing in Sri Lanka and covers areas such as health, education and other services.
In this regard, the manifesto notes to ease the access to Aasandha national healthcare insurance scheme and services provided by National Social Protection Agency (NSPA). Moreover, the manifesto highlights to construct a mosque which can accommodate up to 300 worshippers in Sosun Villa, which is managed by the government of Maldives.
The government has exerted major efforts to ease the living for Maldivians residing in Sri Lanka.
