Ooredoo Maldives has launched the first self-care application which is available in Dhivehi language as part of its continuous efforts to provide inclusive and accessible services through increasing localised digital content.
The Dhivehi version of My Ooredoo App was developed in partnership with Academy for Dhivehi Language. The application was officially launched by Minister of Home Affairs Azleen Ahmed. Speaking after launching the application, Home Minister Azleen Ahmed expressed the telecommunication sector has enhanced with the introduction of services from Ooredoo to Maldives.
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of Ooredoo Maldives Najib Khan said it is of crucial importance to develop content in local languages, as the roles of digital technologies become more and more significant. The Dhivehi version of My Ooredoo App aims to make services more accessible and easier to use across local communities throughout the Maldives, according to Najib Khan.
My Ooredoo App is designed to give customers direct access to manage Ooredoo accounts from smartphones. The application allows customers to check account balance, usage and billed amount, activate add-ons and value added services, view and pay Ooredoo bills, recharge prepaid accounts, redeem points, create, manage and gift customised add-ons, activate a range of services and have access to and enjoy ongoing promotions and offers.
Ooredoo said it hopes to extend the convenience of its self-care application to more customers, by enabling customers to enjoy the entire experience in local Dhivehi language. Ooredoo also noted it will continue to collaborate with local partners and developers to promote localised digital content, as part of its efforts to support a Digital Maldives.
