Ambassador of Maldives to Pakistan Ahmed Saleem has called on the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
During the meeting, the Maldivian ambassador hailed the efforts of Pakistan and the role of Pakistan in promoting peace and regional security. Moreover, discussions focused on matters pertaining to regional security and bilateral interest during the meeting. In addition, discussions were also held to enhance bilateral relation, and joint collaborations in related fields, regionally and internationally.
Maldives and Pakistan established political relations on July 26, 1966. During the past decades both countries have a friendly relationship due to same religious, social and economic aspects. Both countries have Islam as the state religion and are members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
