President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has presented the President's Award for Special Achievement. The awards were conferred at the official function held at Republic Square, to mark the 53rd Independence Day of Maldives.
Two honourees received the medal for exceptional academic achievement within the Maldives National Qualifications Framework, and 19 honourees were recognised for attaining the top ranking in a higher academic course or training. programme.
The Special Achievement Award for attaining top ranking in an international exhibition or contest was awarded to three honourees. Twenty four honourees received medals and certificates of President's Award for Special Achievement.
