President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim have hosted the official reception on the occasion of the 53rd Independence Day of Maldives.
At this year's reception, which was held at Dharubaaruge convention centre, the President and First Lady met with those in attendance at the reception and exchanged greetings in celebration of the auspicious occasion.
Among guests were Vice President Abdulla Jihad, Speaker of the Parliament, cabinet ministers, members of the parliament, diplomats, state dignitaries and ministers of state.
