The government of Maldives has commenced project to develop Thilafushi as an environment-friendly safe island.
The industrial bailing system established in Thilafushi will begin operation in August, Minister of Environment and Energy Thoriq Ibrahim stated speaking at a press conference to reveal information about the development plan of waste management in Thilafushi. Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim noted the government has exerted major efforts to make the environment of Thilafushi safer.
One main objective of such a system is to manage waste safely and to minimise the impact on the environment, the minister highlighted.
