Direct flights to begin between Addu City and South Africa

Managing Director of Addu International Airport Mohamed Latheef has revealed plans to commence direct flights between Addu City and South Africa.
Discussions are currently underway to begin direct flights within the last quarter of the year, Managing Director Mohamed Latheef stated speaking with PSM News. In this regard, highlighting discussions with other airlines, Mohamed Latheef said efforts are underway to commence schedule flights during November or December. Furthermore, Addu International Airport revealed its management has held meetings with tour operators and hoteliers to boost the aviation sector in the city.
Gan International Airport in Addu City is the second largest airport in Maldives. While the national airline, Maldivian, operates daily scheduled flights to Gan International Airport, Sri Lankan Airlines conducts three scheduled flights each week.
