Maldives Energy Authority has opened opportunity for participation in discussions to be held on Energy Efficiency Standards and Labelling (EESL) programme in Maldives. The EESL programme has been conducted in various countries all over the world.
The main aim of the programme in Maldives is to reduce carbon emissions and increase energy security through efficient standards and labelling to improve the energy efficiency of the equipment and appliances sold in Maldives. Air conditioners, refrigerators and washing machines will be prioritised while conducting the labelling programme.
The discussions will be held in August and will focus on business corporations that import and sell electric household items, according to Maldives Energy Authority.
