NDMC urges caution as severe weather continues

National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC) has advised to take necessary precautionary measures to avoid any damages during heavy rain and wind. NDMC urged the public to stay vigilant over possible bad weather in Maldives.
Maldives Meteorological Service said many parts of Maldives have been experiencing heavy rain and wind. Therefore, NDMC called on the public to take necessary precautions to minimise the effect of bad weather.
Furthermore, NDMC advised to fix objects that could be blown by severe wind such as boards, television networks and others, perform periodic maintenance for electrical and water systems and to refrain from leaving home of raining unless absolutely necessary and listen to weather bulletins and various media. Meanwhile, relevant authorities of Maldives are now taking necessary precautions to minimise the effect of severe weather.
The Meteorological Office warned of bad weather in Maldives and urged to take necessary precautions and to avoid sea transportation in addition to ensuring safety measures if necessary.
