Elections Commission forms a national advisory committee

Elections Commission of Maldives has formed a National Advisory Committee consisting of 18 members for the upcoming presidential election.
The members of the committee consist of professionals which include 10 members from government authorities, a representative from each political party and a representative from non-governmental organisations. Representatives from political parties are selected by their respective parties, according to Elections Commission.
In the first meeting of the National Advisory Committee, the members are mandated to discuss on the latest preparations for the upcoming presidential election and the Elections Commission would seek advice from the committee.
