Jameel criticises Nasheed's intention to change the system of governance

An ally of former President Mohamed Nasheed, former Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed has criticized Nasheed's announcement that the system of governance in Maldives would be changed to a parliamentary system.
In a video statement given by former President Mohamed Nasheed, which was played at the function held to launch his presidential campaign, he expressed hope of forming a unified coalition government. He added that the term of the government shall be extended to 6 years. In this regard, Mohamed Nasheed said, the presidential system of governance practiced in Maldives is not the ideal system for the country.
However, former Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel took to twitter to voice his discontent. Former Vice President Dr. Jameel dismissed this proposition as impractical. Dr. Jameel stated, the country needs an honest leadership where autonomy of the judiciary and the law enforcement bodies are established.
Former Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed is one of the leaders of the opposition coalition.
