Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has revealed the causeway linking Madaveli and Hoadehdhoo will be completed in June. The causeway linking Madaveli and Hoadehdhoo is 440 meters long and 7 meters wide.
Approximately USD 1,800,000 from state budget has been set aside for the project, which has been contracted to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) in March 2016. As part of the project, 3.5 hectares of land was reclaimed.
Housing Minister Dr.Muizzu noted that the causeway will come into service in June. Minister Dr. Muizzu said, in a tweet that while the reclamation phase for the causeway has been completed, the construction case is fast uneway.
While the population of Madaveli nears 2000, the population of Hoadhehdhoo is about 1200.
