A second major local business entity involved in attempted coup

Maldives Police Service has revealed that a new array of strong documented evidence has been surfaced which confirms the involvement of a second major local business entity in the case of bribery of Chief Justice Abdulla Saeed and Judge Ali Hameed and Judicial Administrator Hassan Saeed.

Sufficient evidence confirms the three detainees have bought luxurious apartments from foreign countries by the aid of two local business companies, Superintendent Ahmed Shifan revealed at a press briefing held by Maldives Police Service.

Previously, Maldives police Service had confirmed a loan aid of USD 2.4 million by a local major business company was received by Judge Ali Hameed. The Police Spokesperson revealed strong documented evidence has been attained from Maldives and abroad which has confirmed the involvement of the detainees arrested for investigation in the attempted coup by the opposition.

The Police Service further revealed the investigation of the attempted coup would be completed and filed at Prosecutor General's Office by next week.
