UN calls to solve political issues by dialogue

United Nations has called to solve the current political issues in Maldives by dialogue between all parties. United Nations made the call in a closed-door meeting held by the United Nations Security Council regarding the current situation of Maldives.

Assistant Secretary General of United Nations Miroslav Jenca said the Government must resolve the political crisis through all-party talks and offered assistance to facilitate the negotiations, according to international media outlets. There is no reports of violent clashes even though there was political confusion in the Maldives, Jenca told the top United Nations body.

While United Nations has urged to solve the issue through dialogue, the Maldivian Government has once again, after many failed attempts, invited all political parties to resume all-party talks.
