Maldives to collect information on heritage sites

Department of Heritage of Maldives has decided to conduct a survey related to heritage sites in Maldives. 

The survey will be conducted with the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS). This is the first survey of its kind to be undertaken in Maldives.

The two-year long survey will collect information of heritage sites in at least five atolls of Maldives, according to Department of Heritage. The department stated that experts of the OCIS will practically participate in carrying out the survey. The Department further revealed that the latest technologies will be utilized in the survey.

Department of Heritage aims to commence the survey this year.
