Commissioner of Police Ahmed Areef has inaugurated the practical work of developing Feydhoo Finolhu Island as a resort.
According to the Maldives Police Service, the island was handed to the institute to operate as a resort for a period of 50 years, which is expected to produce an income of USD 85 million.
Maldives Police Service revealed that income from the resort developed at Feydhoo Finolhu would be invested on the betterment and welfare of the institute.
The Police Service added that the resort developed at Feydhoo Finolhu would provide special packages for the staff of the institute and their family members. The resort is expected to be completed and launched in 2019.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by executive officers and senior officials from Maldives Police Service and senior officials from the contractor.
