Hiyaa Housing Project to solve congestion issues in Maldives

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has assured that the housing issues faced by Maldivians will be solved with the largest housing project ever to be inaugurated in Maldives. The President made the statement while speaking at the event held to inaugurate Hiyaa Housing Project in Hulhumale' phase 2 area. The Hiyaa Housing Project is aimed at resolving housing issues faced by around eighty thousand people.

Speaking at the ceremony, President affirmed that Male' belongs to all Maldivians, and that the housing project in Hulhumale' Youth's City, which the President described as the City of Hope, will add to the efforts taken by the administration to resolve the issues of congestion in Male'.

Speaking in this regard, the President said that the support of the youth population is crucial for the development of any country, adding that his utmost priority is to resolve the housing issues especially for the youth population, and those living in dire situations.

The President also stated that the completion of the Hiyaa Housing Project will assure housing for 200,000 people.
