Public Service Media (PSM) and Auditor General's Office have signed an agreement on technical cooperation at a ceremony held at PSM Radio Building.
The agreement on technical cooperation was signed by Managing Director of PSM Ibrahim Khaleel and Auditor General Hassan Ziyath. Under the agreement, PSM will follow strict ethical principles in covering audit reports, seminars, workshops and other media coverage of events held by the audit office.
Speaking after signing the agreement, the Managing Director stated that both PSM and Auditor General's Office have huge responsibilities to the nation. The signed agreement would assist PSM and Audit Office to work effectively and carry out the respective duties, said the Managing Director. He further stated that PSM prioritises increasing financial literacy in the country, noting that all platforms of PSM will work to aware and familiarise the general population regarding financial issues.
Speaking at the event, the Auditor General said that his office will support PSM's initiative to further instill financial literacy in Maldives. The agreement with PSM will include assistance in ensuring proper reporting of audit reports, providing technical support to PSM as well as cooperation in other areas, added the Auditor General.
At the ceremony, the first National Accountancy Forum was also launched by the Auditor General. The proposed three-day forum aims to further strengthen the accountancy and audit sector of the country.
