Maldivian plans to further expand seaplane fleet

Island Aviation Services Limited has revealed plans to expand the Maldivian sea plane fleet service this year. Three new sea planes would be added to the Maldivian sea plane fleet service this year, according to the Managing Director of Island Aviation Abdul Haris.

The sea plane fleet expansion is credited to the fast pace development of the tourism sector of Maldives, according to Island Aviation. Maldivian sea plane fleet service, which was initiated in a small scale in 2014, had progressed and achieved major milestones.

Currently, Maldivian operates a total of nine sea planes. Maldivian has been establishing new services to ease the travel of customers and has recently introduced sea plane stretcher service.
