Maldivian to expand flight operations to China

National Carrier, Maldivian has revealed plans of further expanding its operations to China in the near future.

Managing Director of Island Aviation, Abdul Haris stated that the move follows recent partnership established between China's biggest e-commerce giant, Alibaba's online travel platform, Alitrips. Following the partnership, Maldivian plans to expand flights to the biggest cities of China, Beijing and Shanghai, and expanding operations would greatly boost Chinese tourist arrivals to Maldives and assist in bolstering the country's economy, according to Managing Director of Island Aviation.

Maldivian already operates flights to seven destinations in China.
