The Maldivian government continuously works to expand trade relations with countries. Under this effort, Ministry of Economic Development has been holding business matching forums with Thailand. The Economic Ministry has revealed that it is preparing to host the 3rd Thailand Maldives Business Matching Forum on September 28, at Dharubaaruge Convention Centre in Male’ city.
The Ministry has also opened opportunity for local businesses to register to participate in the forum. 26 companies from Thailand will participate in the forum, Deputy Minister at Economic Ministry Adam Thaufeeg said while speaking to media during a press conference. He said the forum will see the participation of food exporters and suppliers from Thailand as previous forums.
The main purpose of the forum is to create contact between local and Thailand businesses, according to the Ministry. Maldives exports varieties of products of Thailand and the Ministry notes the importance of suppliers and importers participation in the forum. Economic Ministry has held two business matching forums dedicated to the businesses from Thailand within this year. The Ministry said that the previous two forums were well received by businesses from both countries.
