Economic Minister says President prioritises youth well-being

Minister of Economic Development Mohamed Saeed has said that the administration of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has prioritised employment and income opportunities for youth in contrast to previous administrations. The Economic Minister made the remarks while speaking at the graduation ceremony of empowering the next 1000 Photographers training programme.

Youth are being employed and provided steady incomes through the policies being implemented by the government, Minister Saeed said while speaking about the work conducted by the government of President Abdulla Yameen to empower youth. The Minister said under the continuous efforts of the government, employment opportunities have been provided for youth from many sectors such as tourism and creative arts sector, especially ensuring Maldivians are given priority in recruitment for these sectors.

Maldivian youth should be in the forefront of developing the economy of the country by taking up as many jobs as possible, according to the Minister.
