Ministers of Health from 11 South East Asia member countries have signed the Malé Declaration on Building health systems resilience to climate change. The declaration was signed at a round table meeting held at the ongoing WHO South East Asia Regional Committee.
The round table meeting was chaired by the Minister of Health of Maldives, Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim. At the meeting, the health ministers discussed the impact of climate change on health systems. Discussions were also carried out on ways to minimise health risks posed by climate change.

Furthermore, member countries shared success stories related to the health system. All member countries agreed that a well-prepared and responsive health system is crucial for preventing and minimising the health risks posed by climate change.
